Dyson announced the release of their Pure Hot + Cool Link multi-tool for September 6.
Just a couple of months after the release of their Pure Cool Link, a fan and an air purifier in one, the company is launching their new device that, in addition to the fan and the air purifier, it also comes with a heater.
The company promises the product removes 99.97 percent of particles in the air, including the ones coming from pollen, bacteria, mold, dust, odors, household or pet dander.
The Pure Hot + Cool Link also comes with a sort of silence mode where the device hum quietly. It comes perfect for using it at night avoiding to annoy other people. It has its own app that tracks the air quality history in order to detect which days are bad for allergies.
The device gives the users the option to select how clean they want the air to be, for those who prefer saving money in energy bills.
The design engineer for the Pure Hot + Cool Link, Sean Hopkins, talked to Wired about the heater and purifier and the difficulty of making it, because humidity and heat use to make allergens worse making the air purifier work overtime to clear the air in the room.
“IT COMES DOWN TO TAKING INTO ACCOUNT HOW DO WE MAKE THE MOST EFFICIENT USE OF THE PURIFIER FUNCTION WHILE MAINTAINING THE ROOM AT A CERTAIN TEMPERATURE,” explained Hopkins to Wired. “IT’S A WELL-TIMED BALANCING ACT, OR MORE LIKE A SEE-SAW.”
The Pure Hot + Cool Link comes in two colors, white (that looks more like silver) and blue. It will hit stores in less than two weeks with a price tag of $599.99.
Pure Cool Link for those who does not care about the heater
The Pure Cool Link was the first of the Link devices released by Dyson. It has Wi-Fi and can be controlled and monitored with a smartphone app for Android and iOS, just like the Pure Hot + Cool Link.
It works by pulling air through a fine mesh filter and releasing it through one of Dyson’s air multiplier fan designs.
Dyson’ bundle price: Fan, heater, and air purifier
Almost like the latest Pure Hot + Cool Link device which has an effectiveness of 99.97 percent of air cleaning , the Pure Cool Link cleans it with a 99.95 percent.
It is a good option for those who does not feel the need to use a heater in their homes and still want an air purifier and a fan. So, instead of the new 3-in-1 device, they can purchase the Pure Cool Link for $499.99, $100 less than the Pure Hot + Cool Link.
