Cricket Wireless challenges Verizon and T-Mobile with $65 unlimited plan

Cricket Wireless has just announced a budget-friendly orientated $65 per month unlimited calling, texting and data plan.

The ongoing battle in between all the three major U.S. carriers, including AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile, has resulted to significant adjustments and price drops to phone and internet contracts over the years.

Amongst the three, during the last couple of years, T-Mobile was the one that was pushing it the most to bring affordable plans accompanied with cheaper smartphones, to customers all across the States.

Though, AT&T’s subsidiary company, Cricket Wireless, has just launched a plan that has stirred enthusiasm around the internet, as it is offering unlimited data (LTE), texts and calls for $65 a month — $70 if you opt out of auto-pay.

Various online publications have sought for a comment from AT&T since the time of the release, as the low-cost did raise a lot of suspicions, though AT&T has ensured that there is not any fine print, such as data throttling from a point and on, and other similar notorious tricks performed by a number of carriers in the past.

Additionally, the company stated that there could be some “reasonable network management practices” on the new plan eventually. Bear in mind that Cricket already limits speeds to 8Mbps.

Part of Cricket Wireless’ respective press release reads:

The new unlimited plan from Cricket Wireless is available beginning April 17, 2016. Cricket provides more 4G LTE coverage nationwide than T-Mobile, MetroPCS, Sprint or Boost*, and everyday customer benefits include:

  • No annual contracts

  • Unlimited talk, text and data access – in and between the U.S., Mexico and Canada – for the Unlimited, Pro and Smart plans.

  • Monthly taxes and fees always included in plan price

  • Access to Cricket Rewards, the only customer loyalty program of its kind offered in the prepaid industry
