Coldplay has just left North America, and they already want to go back for more. The British alt-rock band announced a couple of days ago that they would be returning to North America with 18 more shows in the Summer of 2017, this time including dates in Canada unlike the first time around.
The announcement comes after seven months of touring for the London-based group. ‘A Head Full of Dreams Tour’ is the festival-like tour to promote Coldplay’s seventh album, ‘A Head Full of Dreams.’ The album has already sold over four million copies, and the shows of the world tour have gathered nearly 2.5 million people in more than 50 concerts since March 31 this year.
Coldplay is currently taking a well-deserved break from touring Latin America, Europe, and the U.S. The last ‘A Head Full of Dreams Tour’ show was on September 4, on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia.
‘A Head Full of Dreams Tour’ has been full of surprises
The British superstars’ latest world tour has been one overflowed by success and positive vibes. The setting for each of the shows at most stadiums and arenas consists of three stages: A, B, and C. Everything is colorful and vibrant, similar to the set Coldplay played during the SuperBowl 2016. Confetti, lights, lasers, bracelets, balloons, flowers, and more make for a unique experience on every show.
During the ‘A Head Full of Dreams Tour,’ the band led by Chris Martin got fans to stand in awe to some stunning performances. Over the course of the North American leg this summer, Coldplay featured acts by James Corden (host of the ‘Late Late Show’), and Michael J. Fox performing ‘Johnny B. Goode’ from ‘Back to the Future.’
Besides, the British group has surprised with covers and tributes to iconic figures in music like Bruce Springsteen and the late David Bowie, as well as more modern takes on hit songs by The Killers and Prince.
The setlist for each show is mostly the same, consisting of 26 songs in average and featuring hits from all of Coldplay’s seven albums to date.
