On Monday, Beats revealed the next generation of headphones in its Studio lineup: the Beats Studio3 Wireless. These over-ear headphones are available now both from Beats and from Apple for $350, they ship in October and they pack Apple’s W1 chip inside as well as Pure Adaptive Noise Cancelling (ANC) tech.
The announcement is certainly convenient for its timing, given that the tech giant is set to host its big annual event on September 12 (next week). At the gathering, the first-ever to be held at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park, Tim Cook will unveil to the world the iPhone 8.
Along with the next-gen iPhone, though, will come iOS 11. The new version of Cupertino’s mobile OS is also said to bring big changes and exciting new features for device loyalists. Of course, some of them will prove essential to pairing with other gadgets, such as Beats’ new headphones.
The Studio3 Wireless look the same but sound better
Design-wise, the new Studio3 Wireless by Beats look almost exactly like its older brothers, the Studio2. Some minimal changes include a slightly larger frame and softer over-ear cushions that the company claims make the headphones comfortable enough to wear all day long.
On the flashier side of things, Beats is playing bold with the color scheme this time around, offering the wireless headphones in four traditional colors and two slick models as limited editions. The full rainbow will include Red, White, Blue, Matte Black, Shadow Gray and Porcelain Rose.
However, the best treats are on the inside of this new sound gadget. Apple has stepped in to pack a W1 chip to ensure better pairing with devices running on iOS 10 and 11, macOS Sierra, and Watch OS 3. It will now be seamless to switch between brand devices as long as they are registered and iCloud-connected.
What’s even better is that the Studio3 Wireless headphones will also last up to 22 hours and provide up to 3 hours of additional listening time with 10 minutes of charging thanks to Beats’ Fast Fuel charging technology.
Among other highlights, the latest product by Apple and Beats features a new Pure Adaptive Noise Cancelling (ANC) technology, that instantly recognizes intrusive external sounds and adjusts music playback to isolate your listening experience.
Beats is just in time to ride the iPhone 8 wave
Of course, the timing of the release of the Studio3 Wireless is not coincidental. Beats, as an Apple subsidiary, is waiting to capitalize on the launch of the iPhone 8 this September 12.
The next-gen handset will reportedly become available on September 22, just a couple of weeks before the new headphones start shipping to customers who ordered them. They certainly look better than AirPods, and some say they sound better than current alternatives in the market by Bose and Sony.
