Apple sent out invites early on Wednesday for another launching event scheduled for October 27, a little over a week from now. Enthusiasts and the media expect Apple to unveil a much-needed revamp of its Mac computer lineup.

The invitation to the Mac event reads just ‘Hello Again’ making reference to the company’s September 7 launching event. Apple introduced the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus a little over a month ago, along with some significant design changes also hinted at in Mac computers.

Apple will hold the Mac-focused event on October 27 at its Cupertino, California headquarters, specifically at its 1 Infinite Loop facilities. On October 26, Microsoft also will host an event, and experts say the company will unveil the AIO Surface PC.

Apple could release the new MacBook Pro in October

According to reports from several sources, the company plans to launch a full-fledged revamp of its Mac lineup. All of the laptop and desktop models under the Mac brand are at least one year old, except the flagship Macbook.

The star of the show at Cupertino next Thursday will most likely be the long overdue Macbook Pro redesign. Apple is expected to reveal an overhauled version of its best-selling laptop including features in line with current-gen models like the 2016 Macbook.

The most exciting changes coming to the Macbook Pro are its reported display upscale, game-changing ports, and an all-new feature: a touch sensitive OLED panel atop the keyboard.

Apple’s most predictable course of action indicates the Macbook Pro will come with a higher resolution display, a flatter keyboard, and Intel’s latest Kaby Lake processors.

Apple might kill yet another famous port

On the more ‘courageous’ side, the company is reportedly planning to do away with all the known ports on the Macbook Pro and replace them with USB Type-C and Thunderbolt 3 connectivity solutions.

The new MacBook Pro would no longer include an SD card slot, USB ports, or HDMI port. Apple currently sells a $79 external adaptor for the new Macbook, which also supports USB-C connections only.

Moreover, the upcoming MacBook Pro will replace the upper row of function keys with an OLED panel. The touch-enabled bar will change according to the app or program that is currently running on the machine. Rumors say the new feature is called a ‘Control Strip.’

Apple will livestream its October launching event

Almost the entire lineup of Macs will get a revamp, according to several sources. However, since Apple’s introduction of the 12-inch MacBook, the 11-inch MacBook Air has become a less attractive model, and the company reportedly won’t renew the laptop at its event next week.

All other models and sizes of the Macbook, Macbook Pro, Macbook Air and even the iMac are expected to receive a specs upgrade, if not a full design overhaul. Apple will livestream the event starting at 10 am ET on its official website.
