Speaker manufacturing company, Sonos, has just announced that Apple Music is available for streaming through all of its Internet-connected speakers, starting today.
Yesterday, Sonos had released the results of a research that they had conducted on 30,000 people, delved into how music is responsible for building a familial relationship.
According to the research, households that listened to music the most spent three hours and thirteen minutes more time together than those who listened the least. Moreover, the company report also suggests that such households are also more involved in sex by 67 percent, as compared to the other houses. The ways that the last figures were collected does seem a bit murky, though.
There’s great news for those who use Apple Music and have a Sonos Speaker, as beginning today, the former will stream to the latter. So now, subscribers to Apple’s music service will be able to listen to their favorite tunes on a Sonos wireless speaker system. You will no longer need to connect the speakers to an iPhone or a Mac, all you need to do is install the proprietary app for the speakers.
Sonos is a well-established name in the audio devices industry that is known for making Wi-Fi connected speakers that stream music from both smartphones and computers. Many streaming music services have already paired with the company, including Pandora, Spotify, Tidal, Amazon Prime Music and Google Play Music. Hence, Apple joining the fray doesn’t come as much of a surprise.
To connect your Apple Music account to a Sonos speaker, go to the Sonos app, then press “Add music services”. Find and select the Apple Music logo, log in and you’ll be able to listen to the over 30 million songs in their library.
The offer for 3 months of free iTunes is still valid if you have not tried it out yet. After the free trial expires, the service costs $9.99 per month for single users and $14.99 per month for up to six family members.
