The newly released iPhone 8 has proven to be a solution for the modern power hungry devices, but it could have a few setbacks in a short period of time.
As of iOS 11.2, the iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus support faster 7.5 wireless charging using compatible third-party wireless chargers. Not all 7.5W are supported by wireless chargers, though, and this is a common cause for the poor battery performance on these new devices.
People have questioned not only the iPhone’s reliability or speed in processors, but also criticized the removal of classical fixtures such as the headphone jack removal, or classical charging methods in new generations of the device.
What is wrong with the iPhone 8’s battery?
iPhone 8’s performance has been harshly compared to previous models and similar phones released around the same time. “The iPhone 6S delivered a 70% faster CPU and 90% faster GPU than the iPhone 6. The iPhone 7 boosted its CPU 40% and GPU 50% over the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 8 offers a 25% faster CPU and 30% faster CPU than the iPhone 7,” Forbes said.
Apple has stated that their batteries “are designed to retain up to 80 percent of its original capacity at 500 complete charge cycles.”
Typically, an iPhone’s battery has a longer lifetime than its standardized charging cycle life spam, but in this case, many iPhone 8 batteries barely hold more than 80% charge, and once it hits the 500 recharge cycles, the battery is on borrowed time.
The iPhone 8 counts with fast charging and wireless charging features, they’ve resulted quite practical for many users.on the other hand, the popular belief is that these could be one of the causes for the short duration of batteries.
There is also the fact that, as the device gets older, the charging frequency will need to be increased, regarding that the iPhone 8’s battery duration is 18 months, this could mean a major issue for the users’ experience.
The iPhone X could come to Apple’s rescue
“Apple found iPhone price elasticity with the introduction of the X blunting some demand. Reception of the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus was lukewarm with Apple shifting production back toward the iPhone 7 as a result.”
For many investors, there has been mixed reviews and news, as usual for the iPhone, the initial market response was good, but according to Wall Street analysts, it is expected to see a decline on the long run.
However, Morgan Stanley said iPhone could expect the X model to rescue and somehow replace iPhone 8 and 8 plus, as a silver lining for investors and users, based on performance and reliability.
