Project Cars 2 has a new trailer & a tentative release date

Project CARS is a racing simulator developed by Slightly Mad Studios. Bandai Namco Entertainment released a trailer for the new “Project CARS 2” which will be only available for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

For the PC version will feature VR support, being able to handle up to 12k resolution images. Another addition to the game is a new Online Championship Mode.

“Project CARS 2” will feature a new dynamic weather system and 170 new cars. The new roster includes licensed vehicles from Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini and more.

Also, the game will feature 60 new tracks for the player to choose. That is the biggest selection of tracks that any console racing game has ever had.

Slightly Mad Studios has added some of the latest motorsport vehicles from the real world, from Rallycross to Indycar.

The sequel to Project Cars will introduce weather mechanics

According to “Project CARS” official website, “Project CARS 2” will feature LiveTrack 3.0. allowing players to experience a seemingly realistic temperature, seasonal, and weather change as they race cars along their track of choice.

The original “Project CARS” was first released back in 2015. It is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows.

The initial plan was that this game settled to be released for PlayStation 3, Xbox, 360, and Wii U, but the studio decided to discard the idea and stick to the last gen consoles.

The trailer gives a rough idea of what the game will look like in just a minute and a half. The video confirms some of the features and shows how the weather system will work.

As said before, “Project CARS 2” will only be available for PC and last generation consoles. Also, there has been rumors going among the gaming community about if whether or not the game would come to Nintendo’s new upcoming hybrid console, the Nintendo Switch.

According to creative director, Andy Tudor, “Project CARS 2” will not be available to Nintendo Switch.

He said he did not want to create a false hype with false promises. He explained that adapting the game to the console specs was almost impossible.
