Sega representative, John Hardin, revealed yesterday details about the launch day of Yakuza 0 in the United States. Players who pre-order to secure a copy of the game will receive the Yakuza 0 “The Business” launch edition.

The special edition includes the game, a stainless steel business card holder decorated with Kiryu’s Dragon Tattoo and Majima’s “Hanya” tattoo designs. Additionally, the card holder comes with three bi-lingual replicas of the business cards from Tachibana Real Estate’s Kazuma Kiryu, Cabaret Grand’s Goro Majima, and the cabaret club Sunshine’s hostesses.

Sega, via Hardin’s post on the PlayStation Blog, also confirmed digital pre-orders for Yakuza 0 were available starting September 27. The game’s digital version will feature a static theme for PS4 starring protagonists Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima.

The upcoming PlayStation 4 crime drama is the prequel to the Yakuza series of video games, developed and published by Sega. The title is also the sixth main entry in the franchise that debuted with Yakuza in 2005.

Sega released a remake of the first game called Yakuza KIWAMI back in January. The series, which primarily focuses on the Yakuza Kazuma Kiryu from the Tojo clan, has become a commercial success with 7.5 million units sold as of June 2015.

Yakuza 0 gameplay and plot

The Yakuza prequel features open world gameplay and takes place in December 1988 in Kamurocho and Sotenbori. The locations are a fictionalized recreation of Tokyo’s Kabukicho Shinjuku Golden Gai areas and Osaka’s Dotonbori.

Yakuza world features Kazuma Kiryu of the Kantō region and Goro Majima of the Kansai region. They suddenly found themselves involved in a power struggle between all the dark organizations across Japan set off by “The Empty Lot” incident.

The two protagonists join forces to investigate the truth behind such incident that directly implicates Kiryu in a murder. The dead body is none other than the guy who gave Kiryu his first job as a Yakuza.
