Sunday marks the end of PAX East 2017, one of the most important venues for fans in the U.S. to celebrate gaming culture. Several games were available to play, and developers debuted some trailers and demos for upcoming titles in Boston.

The three-day event took place at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center over the weekend, beginning last Friday, March 10. PAX covers everything from video games to tabletop games, as well as cosplay exhibitions and specialized panels.

Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony were also there with the latest games available on their respective platforms.

Nintendo Switch gets Splatoon 2 and ARMS demos

Two of the most awaited titles for Nintendo Switch got new demos for players to try out at the East Coast convention this weekend. Splatoon 2 and ARMS make full use of the next-gen console’s capabilities to deliver a riveting gaming experience.

Splatoon 2 is the sequel to the critically acclaimed game for Wii U, and it is quickly becoming apparent that it may be the next big thing on eSports. Nintendo certainly believes so, marketing the title as an ideal platform for team matches in serious competitions.

ARMS, on the other hand, exploits the Joy Con’s versatility in a new take on fighting games that promises to be a lot of fun. In the game, you battle with others using extendable arms that have unique weapons as well.

FromSoftware teases final Dark Souls III DLC, The Ringed City

FromSoftware is back to give Dark Souls III one last breath of life with the second and final DLC, The Ringed City. This expansion follows Ashes of Ariandel, and it will feature new areas, bosses, weapons, and more.

The Ringed City launches on March 28 for $15 on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Players who have bought the $25 Season Pass only need to wait to get access to the DLC.

Square Enix previews Final Fantasy XV: Episode Gladiolus

The first DLC for the critically acclaimed Final Fantasy XV is on its way. Episode Gladiolus focuses on the title character instead of Noctis, and they part ways at the beginning of the episode as the player takes control of Gladiolus.

Fans will be introduced to this character’s combat style as they meet with Cor Leonis to talk about a campaign he could not manage to complete decades ago. At the end of this adventure, Gladiolus will have to face the Blademaster, someone Final Fantasy fans may know better by the name of Gilgamesh.

Episode Gladiolus is a free DLC coming to Xbox One and PS4 later this month on March 28.

More Mass Effect: Andromeda on display at PAX ahead of launch

Finally, BioWare and Electronic Arts wrapped up a busy week with an hour-long live stream of Mass Effect: Andromeda gameplay footage. The studio posted a launch trailer earlier this week, and IGN got to play the multiplayer mode in an exclusive.

Several have criticized some of the aspects of the game, judging only by the footage that made it to YouTube. However, those involved in the development of the game swear by Andromeda’s exciting new story and enhanced in-game mechanics.

Mass Effect: Andromeda comes out this March 21 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. European players have to wait two days more, but all fans can play ten hours of the game on March 16 if they have and Origin Access or EA Access subscription.
