Warner Bros. unveiled a new trailer for ‘Injustice 2‘ which revealed Suicide Squad members Harley Quinn and Deadshot were joining the roster of the upcoming DC Comics fighting video game.

Fans loved the ‘Suicide Squad,’ and the movie is doing quite well at the box office. By incorporating the movie characters to Injustice’s sequel, Warner Bros seeks to transfer the film’s success to the video game.

Harley Quinn and Deadshot were the leading characters in the anti-hero team film where they were played by movie stars Margot Robbie and Will Smith, respectively. The two are also Task Force X’s most popular and famous members.

Harley Quinn returns for Injustice 2

Harley Quinn’s inclusion is not a novelty but more of a highlight this time around due to her appearance in Warner Bros.’ Suicide Squad movie. The character has gained wide popularity, but the fact is that Harley was already part of the original roster in ‘Injustice: Gods Among Us.’

The Joker, who also appeared in the 2013 release, hasn’t been confirmed yet, though. Supposing he shows up, it would be interesting to see if developers are going to include actor Jared Leto’s version of The Clown Prince. Leto portrayed the character in Suicide Squad.

The trailer further revealed Harley’s combos and overall fighting style got expanded, and now she can also use her pet hyenas. Plus, she will have her classic jester outfit as well as her costume from Suicide Squad.

Deadshot makes his console debut

As for Deadshot, this will be his debut in the console version of the game series. The assassin for hire appeared in the mobile version of the first Injustice game as part of Suicide Squad’s marketing campaign.

In the trailer as in the movie and comics, Deadshot’s moves are him shooting firearms and his signature wrist-mounted guns is also included in the game. Much like Deathstroke, who uses a sword, Deadshot yields a knife for close combats.

Deadshot will join fellow confirmed characters Harley Quinn, Aquaman, Atrocitus, Batman, Blue Beetle, Flash, Gorilla Grodd, Supergirl, Superman and Wonder Woman in Injustice 2.

Injustice 2 will hit the stores in 2017

The sequel will continue the storyline established in ‘Injustice: Gods Among Us.’ After they defeated the High Councilor, the alternate universe Batman and the rebels are trying to restore society.

However, there are remains of Superman’s totalitarian regime, and there is still a group of soldiers who want to restore the Man of Steel’s rule. Amidst of the chaos, a new threat appears and puts Earth’s existence at risk.

Injustice 2, developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, is scheduled for release in 2017 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Like with the previous installment, iOS and Android devices will have a mobile version of the game.
