Facebook (NASDAQ: FB) tries every possible trick to lure and engage its users. This time, it has brought the SnapChat like feature with its new photo uploader. The new Facebook photo uploader is currently available on iOS. It feature will be introduced to the Android platform very soon and currently is undergoing testing phase.

“Make your photos more interesting with the new Facebook Photo Uploader app”

Is the new Facebook photo uploader an imitation of SnapChat?

Well, that’s a tricky question. Facebook had definitely tried to acquire SnapChat long time back; however, SnapChat’s CEO turned down Facebook’s $3 billion offer to make SnapChat a part of Facebook. For a long time, Facebook is trying to bring in features like SnapChat. It had brought an app called Poke, that was similar to SnapChat’s messaging app; but it failed big time. Now, the new Facebook photo uploader too has similar features like SnapChat, that can make your photos more interesting.

Some of the features of the Facebook photo uploader are; adding overlaid text in any color, preview the filters that are applied to the photo and pasting stickers on the pictures.

Facebook mentions in a post:

“People want to be creative when they share experiences with their friends and family on Facebook. We are rolling out a new place to house all of Facebook’s photo-editing tools, making it even easier to add filters, stickers, or text to your photos.”

Facebook photo uploader app comes with a complete set of photo editing tools. You can write overlaid text and choose any desired color for the text from the color pallet. Besides, you can also apply different filters on the photos and see its results immediately. Facebook photo uploader consists of a descent collection of stickers and emojis that can be used to ‘enhance’ the photos in a comical way.

This new feature in Facebook photo uploader seems to be quite powerful and alluring for new users. In the following months it will be clear if it goes big or not.
