Bethesda Softworks released a live-action trailer for the upcoming Dishonored 2. Called ‘Take Back What’s Yours,’ the two-minute clip is Bethesda’s latest effort to make its video games feel like a movie.

The publisher began such trend with Fallout 4’s live-action trailer. Bethesda then made one for the 2016 reboot of the Doom series, too. Both videos did not reveal much about the gameplay and Dishonored 2’s trailer was not the exception.

Instead, the clip shows several classic features of the Dishonored series. So, players will get to see the usual clockwork robots, violent superpowers, and cool masks in live-action. The video will also leave them wanting a Dishonored film.

In the trailer, a flesh-and-blood Corvo Attano and Emily Kaldwin showcase combat moves and abilities like Shadow Walk and Far Reach. Additionally, gamers will get a brief glimpse of main villain Delilah Kaldwin as well as the game’s setting, Karnaca.

Dishonored 2 plot and setting

The sequel to the acclaimed 2012 game Dishonored will allow players to choose a female protagonist.

In the first game, the story follows Empress bodyguard Corvo Attano. Framed for the murder of Emily’s mother, Corvo ultimately restores her to the throne. The game was a success and sales exceeded Bethesda’s expectations.

In November 2012, the publisher announced intentions of developing Dishonored into a franchise. In June 2015, Bethesda disclosed Dishonored 2 was in development and that it would feature Corvo and Emily as playable characters.

15 years have passed since the events in Dishonored. The Empire has prospered under Emily’s reign and Corvo’s protection. Dishonored 2 takes place in the coastal city of Karnaca of the fictional Empire of the Isles.

After the witch Delilah Kaldwin dethrones Empress Emily Kaldwin, players will have to pick between Emily or Corvo Attano to reclaim the throne.
