If you own an Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) product and you use iTunes to sync it, or you just use iTunes as your music player, you might have noticed that it updated to 12.1.2. Main reason for the update being the addition of Apple Music, recently released for iOS devices. The new update also revealed clues about the new iPods by accident.

New iPod models would show if a user connected their iPod to newly updated iTunes. The images showed are low-resolution and do not provide much information. Looking at the photos we can see that Apple removed ‘the loop’ on the back of the device. Higher definition photos have been leaked by a Belgian site Belgium-iPhone, but we do not know if these photos are official or are just mock-ups.

Unofficial fan site 9to5mac reports that the new iPod might be using an upgraded 8MP camera on the back (previously 5MP) and a faster, 64-bit processing unit. The new device will, of course, run Apple’s latest and greatest, iOS 8.4.

The site also claims a new 128GB model will be available for $399, $199 being the 16GB one and a 64GB version will go for $299.
